Living Out Our Mission — Ministry recap for first half of 2025

Living Out Our Mission

At Lockshield Partners, our commitment to faith-based financial planning extends far beyond numbers and markets—it’s about people, purpose, and community. This year has been full of opportunities to serve, connect, and make a positive impact in our communities, and we’re grateful for every moment. Here’s a look at how we’ve lived out our mission, I will show you my faith by my works, in 2025:

Leadership Bowling Green: Deepening Our Roots in the Community

This year, Jamie had the honor of participating in the Leadership Bowling Green program, sponsored by the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. Through this immersive experience, she took a deep dive into the many systems, stories, and strengths that make up our vibrant community. It was a powerful reminder that service starts with understanding—and that leadership grows through connection.

Friends of Lockshield: Coffee, Conversation, and Community

One of our favorite recurring ministry events is our Friends of Lockshield Coffee Hours. These casual gatherings provide space for meaningful fellowship over a delicious drink. We also introduced a new event this year: the Snack and Stroll—a light lunch followed by a walk in the park. These simple moments of connection remind us of the importance of community—sharing time, stories, and a genuine heart.

Hands-On Ministry: Feeding the Hungry

As part of our ministry focus on feeding the hungry, our team has been honored to volunteer regularly with local organizations making a direct impact:

  • Salvation Army – Serving lunch each month to those in need, offering nourishment and a smile.
  • Top Crops – Harvesting fresh, local produce alongside individuals with many different abilities, helping promote local.
  • St. Vincent DePaul – Assembling food boxes to help ensure families have what they need during challenging times.

These hands-on experiences have reminded us that true stewardship often starts with showing up—heart and hands ready to serve.

Investing in the Next Generation

In keeping with our mission to uplift and equip our local communities, we were thrilled to donate two basketball goals to the Boys and Girls Club of Glasgow–Barren County. We believe in the power of play, teamwork, and positive spaces for youth—and we hope these goals bring joy, encouragement, and opportunity for years to come.

Empowering Future Leaders: Arthur Cotton Scholarship

Each year, Lockshield Partners awards two $1,500 scholarships to students at the Barren County Area Technology Center (BCATC). The “Arthur Cotton Memorial Scholarships” are given in honor of Jodi Walden’s late father. Jodi is the Operations Manager for Lockshield Partners Financial Services in Glasgow.

When applying, students are asked to answer the question: What is the long-term impact that financial decisions made by an individual can have on their family and the overall community surrounding them?

The recipients this year are two Barren County High School students, Skyler Milstead and Madeline Prichard.

Spreading Financial Wisdom with Christian Family Radio

We are excited to continue our media partnership with Christian Family Radio (CFR) through our weekly segment: “Mindful Money Minute.”
Each week, we share quick, practical, faith-based insights to help listeners approach their finances with wisdom, intentionality, and peace. From budgeting and saving to giving and planning for the future, our goal is to encourage Biblical stewardship in everyday life. It’s a joy to share what we’ve learned in a format that reaches hearts and homes across the region.

Celebrating and Supporting Local Causes

We were proud to sponsor and support a number of important local events and organizations this year, including:

  • The Fur Ball – supporting the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society.
  • St. Joseph School Gala – supporting the school growth, students and faculty.
  • BRAWA Derby Days and the BRAWA Paw Ball – helping provide care and shelter for our four-legged friends in the Barren County Area.
  • Casino Night for Life Better Together – a fun and festive evening supporting the incredible work of bringing families and resources together.

Each of these events gave us the opportunity to give back, meet new faces, and champion causes close to our hearts.

Client Dinner at the Corvette Museum

This season’s Client Dinner at the National Corvette Museum was truly a highlight. Guests enjoyed walking through the iconic museum, trying their hand at the driving simulator, and sharing a delicious meal together. It was a special evening of appreciation for the clients we’re honored to serve—and a celebration of the trust we’ve built together over the years.

Looking Ahead with Grateful Hearts

We are continually reminded that our work is about more than finances—it’s about stewarding relationships, building community, and serving with love. Thank you to everyone who partnered with us, joined us, and supported us in this year’s ministry efforts. We’re excited to see what God has in store next.

If you’d like to join us at a future Friends of Lockshield gathering, tune in to the Mindful Money Minute, or learn more about the organizations we support, reach out anytime. We’d love to connect.
